Signature regulations
Currently, all "ad personam" applications (§26, applicants as contract partners) as well as all §27 applications (the university/institution as contract partner) with a budget < € 100,000 are administrated and processed by the faculty, and hence signed by the Dean.
§27-projects with a budget ≥ € 100,000 must be submitted through Research Services and Career Development (DLE FSNF). In particular, this concerns EU, FFG, ERASMUS+ etc.; they are reviewed and administrated by Research Services and signed by the Vice Rector.
Please note: There are exceptions with regard to some FWF-programmes - in these cases, the budget limit is € 700,000. Only budgets of € 700,000 and above are approved by the rectorate, lower budgets are approved by the faculty. Currently, this applies to the following programmes:
• FWF ESPRIT
• FWF Principal investigator Projects (PAT)
• FWF "1000 Ideas Programme" (TAI)
• FWF Science Communication
• FWF Top Citizen Science Programme (TCS)
However, please also inform the faculty of applications administrated by Research Services, since the faculty is involved in those cases as well (e.g. work spaces, employment and career development, overheads). With some projects, such as FWF ASTRA and ERC grants, a written declaration of support issued by the faculty is required. Further information are provided by Research Services.
